The Nuclear and Space Power Department develops advanced concepts for next-generation nuclear power plants, space nuclear power and naval propulsion and power systems and seeks to advance the efficient and safe utilization of nuclear energy. We have pioneered the Capillary Pumped Reactor (CPR) concept to advance the passive safety of long-endurance nuclear power generation, utilizing the capillary flow of liquid lithium to cool the reactor. |
